So remember my Pepper Grinder craft?

I had bought 3 grinders and only used 2 of them, I still had one left...
Picture
In case you didn't figure it out, the one I didn't use is the one circled above. It needed a purpose...

This is what I made with it:
Picture
And then my husband made fun of it.

So then it turned into this:

Picture
Fail! It could have potential...maybe in an other project, but this time...no thanks.

So then I decided to do this:
Picture
I had cute vintage flower bowl that I put my rings in at night, and decided to make them join together in one. I used my BFF E6000 glue and put them together.

And guess what we have...
Picture
Success! I love it because I can throw my rings in the top, and now the bowl serves for another place to hang some of my earrings.  Not too shabby eh?

I have a TON of craft projects on my "to do" list - I need to get crackin...so until next time,

Ps, there are a lot of fun Giveaways listed right now - head on over and check em' out:

So here is another blog I blog stalk, it's called House of Hepworths. I e-mailed Allison and she said I could share her blog, and I HAD TOO...her skills seriously rock.

Here is one of her recent projects. She went to the Dollar store and picked up this mat, ONE DOLLAR :
Picture
She unraveled it and has been making the cutest things:
Picture
I love this
And this...
Picture
my kids would love this, I might have to copy
Super cute huh? You can check out the details of how she made these here.

She's moving up in this big bad world, it seems she has struck recent fame...so head over and check her blog out...I know you'll love it.

Her blog is one of those that you should follow.

Thanks Allison for letting me share your crafty mind!

Thrifty Makeover 04/13/2010

Here is another little project I have been working on. I found this at DI for I think $1.50.
Picture
I wasn't quite sure what it was at first, but then figured out it is a recipe card holder box. It was kind of cute, but seriously needed a makeover.
Picture
I spray painted it black, added a knob, took out all the spices and replaced that space with cute paper.

Hello cuteness...I knew you were in there somewhere.
Picture
I'm thinking I should start a "spray paint lover" club...because spray paint seriously rocks...right? :)

If you haven't entered this weeks contest, make sure to go enter here.

I seriously have a minor addiction to furniture makeovers. I love seeing old stuff turn into new, fun beautiful items. I have a friend that just redid a few items, and wanted to share them with you. You can see the details of the transformation at her blog: 4 Monkeys.
Picture
Here is the before, I actually think it's pretty cute before....but she wanted a change, so here is the after:
Picture
Cute huh? I love the black shabby chic furniture look. I am definitely a fan.

And then she did this transformation on her kids closet area...Check out the before:
Picture
And the after...she said she spent around $30 for the transformation. They wanted to make it look like a built in Armoir, and I think they did a pretty good job.
Picture
Thanks Heather for letting me show off your latest creation, I'm a sucker for furniture makeovers.

If anyone else has any furniture, or fun thrifty makeovers you'd like to share...let me know!

I saw this on another blog (I google read soooo many, I can't remember where I saw it)

This is kind of like the Cake Stand craft, but using wood. And of course...I had to try it out...
Picture
I bought this Salt Shaker at DI for $0.75 and this bowl for $1.50. Grand total: $2.25

I glued them together using E6000 glue and let them dry. I then put a quick coat of black spray paint and sanded the edges down to make it look a little more rustic.
Picture
I pretty much love it...didn't it turn out super cute?

Thanks for stopping by!

Oh! Make sure to stop by and enter our Current Giveaway,  if you haven't already.

Cheers to a snowy tuesday here in Eastern Idaho,

I'm linking up too:

My Aunt TK was talking about this cake stand craft she was going to make. I was never involved in the making process, but it sounded super cool so I decided to give it a whirl.
Picture
These are the items you need. I bought an icecream sundae cup and a few other glasses and a few plates and a glass bowl. I think I paid  $6.50 total at a local thrift store. To glue the glass together you will use E-6000 glue which I found at Walmart for around $2.80. Total spent: $9.30

All you do is put the glue around the rim of the cup (put cup upside down) and glue to the middle of the plate. It will need to dry for about 15-20 minutes.

Make sure you only put glue on the edges of the cup, especially on the clear glass because you can see right where the glue is if you aren't careful.

Let them dry...and VOILA!

I haven't made any cakes to put on there yet, but wouldn't these be a fun gift to give someone with a bunch of cupcakes? I think yes.
Picture
I made these late at night, hence my bad lighting. The pictures don't do them justice, but I sure love them.
Picture
And my bird salt and pepper shakers sure love them too! A perfect little place for them to sit!

Cute eh?

Me likey.

Table Makeover 03/25/2010

I was offered this table for the cost of: free

I went and picked it up, and this is how it looked:
Picture
My husband saw me unloading it and asked what in the heck I had picked up. He told me that it just needed to be thrown into the fire.... a piece of junk that wasn't worth my time or energy.

So I decided to prove him wrong. I kept saying, it's not trash, it will be a treasure...and he just laughed. As long as I was happy with my little project he didn't mind, but still thought I was silly.  I started putting it together (a few times) and almost gave up, I wasn't sure there was hope for this little table.

But...I finally got the legs back on and sanded it down...it started looking good, and then I knew there was hope.
Picture
With a little TLC and a can of spray paint, I turned this little guy into this:
Picture
I pretty much love it. Total cost: $3.80 for the spray paint - oh how I love good finds!

Look how cute it is...don't you love it too? I gotta prove to the hubby that my time and effort was a success :)
Picture
Thanks Jackie for my hook-up with my free table. I'm excited to put it in my guest bedroom once the bedroom is finished!

I love you my little blue table :)

Frame Craft 03/24/2010

I picked up these frames from a local thrift store for $0.75/ each.
Picture
I spray painted them black, and sanded them a bit to make them look cooler.

This one I added a cute piece of scrapbook paper...
Picture
Simple and cute....right? :)

This one I just used a card that I got from a friend, I really LOVE how it turned out.
Picture
I was pretty stoked about adding some new decor to my house for a whopping $1.50. I think I need to go search for more frames, I have some fun ideas floating in my head for my daughters room.

Drab to Fab 03/23/2010

A friend recommended this blog called Drab to Fab and I'm now an official blog stalker. I just loved this post, so I had to share.
Picture
She started with this.

And ended with this...
Picture
I love it!  Such a fun transformation! See the details of how she did this here.

Hi Ladies! It's Sadie. I was so excited to see the response to Esbechic's first giveaway. The flower clips are the darned cutest things! I am working on an instructional post for them. They are super easy.

Now a confession....I am not crafty or creative. Anything you see me do on this blog that could fall under those categories was more than likely Brit's idea and I just followed instructions.

I do however love to get a hold of a piece of unloved furniture, some sandpaper and paint. Take this coffee table for example:

Picture
Not so cute huh.
I sanded it down, applied a coat of grey tinted primer (it's veneer) then painted over that with Beluge from Behr in a flat finish.
Picture

I love the distressed look. I have two little boys so it's easier if I just start with the distressed look rather than go insane trying to keep my things "nice".

Picture
Picture
It looks so fabulous! All it needed was a little love and attention. The plank board top is my favorite. Sorry for the picture quality. I had already carried it down to my windowless basement before I realized I needed an "after" pic.
I spent $35 on this project. That included buying the table. Not bad for a "new"  coffee table.
