So remember my Pepper Grinder craft?

I had bought 3 grinders and only used 2 of them, I still had one left...
Picture
In case you didn't figure it out, the one I didn't use is the one circled above. It needed a purpose...

This is what I made with it:
Picture
And then my husband made fun of it.

So then it turned into this:

Picture
Fail! It could have potential...maybe in an other project, but this time...no thanks.

So then I decided to do this:
Picture
I had cute vintage flower bowl that I put my rings in at night, and decided to make them join together in one. I used my BFF E6000 glue and put them together.

And guess what we have...
Picture
Success! I love it because I can throw my rings in the top, and now the bowl serves for another place to hang some of my earrings.  Not too shabby eh?

I have a TON of craft projects on my "to do" list - I need to get crackin...so until next time,

Ps, there are a lot of fun Giveaways listed right now - head on over and check em' out:

I love this idea from Blue Cricket Design.

I love simple and cute ideas :)

Terrarium Love. 05/03/2010

So I told you about the apothecary jars I found dirt cheap.  Well this is what I decided to do with them..I thought it would be fun to make mini terrariums.
Picture
I picked some succulents up at home depot for $3.00 and came home and went to work.  I also bought decorative rock to put on top of the dirt (that was the most expensive part)

But I love how they turned out. This is one of those things that the picture just doesn't do it justice..
Picture
But you get the general idea... right? I love plants, and love these terrariums, they are now proudly displayed in my kitchen.
Picture
Oh...I ended up gluing the candlesticks on the bottom to make them taller. They stayed on for about 10 minutes, I decided I didn't like them, and they were too tall to fit in the spot I wanted to place them...so...stands came off and they are back to the original.

The stands might come back, but regardless...

But I like.

maybe love them...

Thanks for letting me share :)

Apothecary Jars 04/30/2010

I always see other women find these jars at thrift stores...but I NEVER find them....Until now...I found these bad boys at a local thrift store, and I was super excited :)

I think I paid $5 total for the both of them.
Picture
I've had them for a few weeks and have been trying to think of a fun idea for them. One thing I am having a hard time deciding is to keep them originals as pictured above, or to make them higher with stands (below) The stands are candle sticks from Dollar Tree.
Picture
Which do you think looks better?

{If I decide on the stand things I will just adhere them with E6000 glue.}

I have a fun idea planned for these, I'll share with you soon!

Thanks for stopping by,

So I was inspired to participate in another blog challenge a few weeks ago. I participated, but didn't tell anyone about it because I was embarrased of my work.
Even though they turned out terrible...the concept is super fun so I had to share.
Picture
They are little photo magnet blocks for your fridge. They are kind of fun because they give a different perspective since they aren't stuck to the side of your fridge, they kind of pop out.
Picture
Cute idea...failed on my end, but check out  hers for REAL inspiration here.
Picture
Let's just say my skills with using power tools and cutting wood:

no good.

Not every project can be a success I guess!

If I can get the hubby to cut some more blocks I will give this another whirl...maybe in a few months ;)
Picture
Oh wait...remember to check out all the Current Giveaways that are listed:

I found this frame at DI for $2.00. I was excited because it was already painted, I just knew I had to get rid of the teddy bear/hat picture and I'd be golden.

Whoever spray painted the frame before did it with the glass in, so there was white spray paint ALL OVER the glass...take out the glass people! ...So I had to take it off before starting my project and guess what takes paint off glass?...it works like a charm.... Magic Eraser baby...seriously just took that paint off like nothing.
Picture
I grabbed a piece of fabric from my stash and placed  it over the bear picture. Good bye teddy :)

And came up with this...
Picture
I love it! I ended up making matching pillows and threw them on my couch! A fun little transformation, and oh so easy!

Thanks for stopping by Esbe Chic and indulging me on my little crafts :)

Make sure to enter this weeks GIVEAWAY, it ends tomorrow 04/22/10!

Thanks,

Remember the Bowl/Stand craft I made out of an old pepper shaker and a bowl? I had another fellow blogger comment on my blog that she had made some crafts out of old Pepper mills. You can see hers here. She inspired me to follow her example.

I have been keeping my eyes out for some ever since I saw her post, and went to an auction a few days later and I scored:
Picture
These 3 pepper grinders for $2.50! I was so excited to transform these suckers!

I purchased these birds from Dollar Tree:
Picture
I pulled off their legs and then glued them on top of the grinders. I spray painted everything, let them dry for a few days. I then did a quick sanding to roughen them up a little.

Price run down: $2.50 Grinders, $2.00 birds, FREE Spray paint (from a yard sale)

Craft total $4.50

And they turned out like this:
Picture
Hello adorable :)

I am so happy with them! I think I might have to run to Dollar Tree to grab some more birds, I think these would be such fun little gifts.

I still have one pepper grinder left, I am trying to come up with another fun idea I can try...So I'll have to post on that later.

Thanks for letting me share all my little crafty projects!

Capri Sun Bag 04/17/2010

I figured that summer is getting closer I should whip up some Capri Sun bags. I have seen them before, but wasn't quite sure how to make them. So I kind of just whipped up this idea on my own.

First, I cut slits in the bottom of each bag and washed inside and out and laid them out to dry:
Picture
I just used my sewing machine with a regular needed to sew these bad boys together. Using 18 Capri Sun bags I sewed 2 sections with 6 capri suns and 3 sections with 2 capri suns. Here is a picture to hopefully better explain:
Picture
Then I just kind of pieced them together and sewed it up. I used fabric for the straps, and sewed those on.  I think I will make the next one with different straps...I'll test a few things to see what I really like.
Picture
Not too shabby eh? Even my mother in law who knows I don't sew...she said she was impressed :)

I was also thinking it would be a cute idea to make a little smaller bag and use them for birthday bags to put gifts in for those summer birthday parties. I might have to whip a few of those up and keep them on hand.

Gotta love a fun little re purpose. (ps, wally world is selling these bags for $8 each...or you could make your own for practically nothing)

I have to go make another one tomorrow so my kids stop fighting over who owns this one! Anyways, that's all for now...

Thanks for stopping by!

Zipper Flowers 04/09/2010

I scored some dirt cheap zippers yesterday...and I thought to myself, I shall make some zipper flowers...
Picture
They aren't as easy as I thought they would be. I would love to do a "how to"...but at this point I'm not really sure how I even made this one. :)

If the next one is successful, I'll be sure to share my secrets :)

I think they are pretty cute though...right? :)

Oh! and I got a little award today from CJ Sime:

Thanks CJ for showing some love!
